Rachel Prendergast
Midwife
Rachel has worked in the Nursing and Midwifery sector for over 15 years and had the opportunity to work in antenatal care and education, birthing suite, postnatal ward and domiciliary support. It’s a pleasure for her to collaborate with the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team at Empower.
As a member of the bank team for midwives, at both Northpark Private Hospital and Mercy Hospital for Women, she may cross paths with our patients who are in patients.
When not doing what she loves as a midwife, she love to spend time at home with her husband and two gorgeous children, seeing and helping them grow brings her so much joy. In their spare time, they enjoy gardening, watching movies and going to Lorne for holidays.
Lisa Haber
Medical Secretary
Lisa Haber has been working for more than 9 years in our practice as a Medical Secretary. She started working as a Medical Secretary in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2004, and before that she worked in IT after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts.
She does everything from making appointments, billing, booking surgery, health fund and Medicare reconciliation and maintaining doctors schedules. Lisa loves working in women’s health, for her being part of the journey of our mums is very rewarding.
Lisa has two grown children, is married, a down sizer and empty nester. She enjoys the community of the local football club where she volunteers, as well as catching up with friends and travelling.
Kasey Haldane
Medical Secretary
Kasey Haldane has been our Medical Secretary since 2017. She is highly skilled across all aspects of medical administration.
Her favourite part of the job is getting to know all the new mums to be, returning mums and building relationships across the board.
When Kasey isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family and baking, and enjoys organising and cleaning.
Raymond Joosten
Medical Secretary
Raymond joined the Medical Secretary team in April 2023. He brings 30 years of knowledge and experience in elective surgery administration and is an experienced Operating Suite technician. Raymond has spent the majority of these years at Mercy Hospital for Women.
He has always enjoyed working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology supporting patients on their journey. Raymond is passionate about new computer systems and technology supporting doctors and enhancing the patient’s experience.
Raymond lives in Coburg with his partner and a gorgeous King Charles Cavalier, Chloe. When not working, Raymond enjoys catching up with friends, dancing, travelling, and playing badminton.
Jay Samuel
Practice Manager
Jay has been our Practice Manager since 2011. He enjoys supporting our doctors and maintaining our practice’s patient focus. Jay encourages any patient to contact him or any of our administration staff to ask questions about any administrative issue throughout their care with us.
He loves being the taxi for his two active children, and spending time with his wife and his family. Jay is involved in the local cricket club and still playing veteran cricket.
