Dr Rebecca Shields

Rebecca obtained her undergraduate degree from Monash University and graduated with honors. She completed her obstetric and gynaecology training primarily at Monash Medical Centre and Box Hill Hospital, and has also worked in smaller urban and rural hospitals.

Her interests include pregnancy care, general gynaecology, laparoscopic surgery, colposcopy, menstrual disorders, menopause, vulval conditions, PCOS and contraceptive counselling.

In addition to her work at Empower Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Rebecca has a public appointment at the Mercy Hospital for Women and enjoys teaching the new generation of obstetricians and gynaecologists in training.

Rebecca enjoys working together to achieve a positive birth outcome while supporting your birth preferences. She provides gynaecological care covering a whole life span, from adolescence to post-menopause.

Outside of medicine, Rebecca enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, hiking and pottering in the garden with her chooks, and spending time with her young family.
